GREYTON’s GOOD FOR CHALLENGES

GREYTON’s GOOD FOR CHALLENGES

The scenic town of Greyton is the setting the scene for some iconic trail running events in October and November this year. Spectacular routes of 32km, 20.5km, 11km and 5km will cater for all distance runners.

The 32km “Bushman Blitz” is run on the legendary Boesmanskloof Trail from Greyton to McGregor, returning the same day and includes the Reserve route. It is rated a technical trail run with steep ascents and descents, loose rocks and narrow single-track paths. The trail is strenuous and is only recommended for fit and experienced trail runners. Cape Nature is restricting the number of entrants to protect the environment so don’t take too long to think about it. Entries are closed for the 17 October run.

There are 5km and 11km off-road mountain trail run options available on the 17th October Theses trails are set in the mountains surrounding the picturesque village, where the terrain is varied and the routes include cool water crossings and breathtaking views. With lots of singletrack paths through fynbos, the 11 km and 5km routes are rated as mildly technical and is open to anyone over the age of 12 years.

The 20.5km trail has a minimum age of 18 years and has some steep climbs and descents and requires trail running fitness.

All entries are strictly limited and only pre entries are accepted. For further information and entry forms, log onto http://www.targetevents.co.za/. No entries will be accepted on the day.

The races all start and finish at the Greyton Lodge Hotel, situated in the heart of the village and offers superb country accommodation for your weekend stay.

Medals will be given to all finishing runners and thanks to our sponsors, fantastic prizes are up for grabs from Sportsmans Warehouse, First Ascent, von Geusau Chocolates, Falke, USN, Salomon, Montrail, Buff Headwear, Revite and Island Tribe
