FLOWER CLASSICS AT THE GREYTON LODGE

You are invited to an exhibition of “Flower Classics”, a collabaration between Greyton’s florists Karlien Walker Wellington and Bói Thorvardarson, at the Greyton Lodge on Thursday 2 June at 18h30, and on display during the Greyton Genadendal “Classic for All” festival.


Karlien Walker Wellington is a self taught florist with 10 year experience and does flower decorations for occasions such as weddings, functions etc. as well as supplying professional flower bouquets to the Friendly Grocer IN Greyton every week. Bói Thorvardarson studied floristry in Oslo, Norway and has had several flower shops in Oslo and Reykjavik, Iceland as well as working freelance for the governments in both Norway and Iceland.

Greyton Art Circle exhibition

The members of the Greyton Art Circle, an informal group of local residents, are all current amateur students of Gail Polwarth. The circle holds 2 day workshops during the year, conducted by visiting well-known artists which have included Hazel Soan, Peter Earl and Derric van Rensburg. In addition, an annual exhibition is held during the Greyton Rose festival in October.

Initially, the Group only painted in water colour, but several members have now moved on to the use of acrylics as their preferred medium, examples of which can be viewed at the Greyton Lodge in Greyton.
